US President Donald Trump declared that President Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel and him had agreed to discontinue the US annual grants to Israel within the end of the year. According to Trump, who was speaking in an interview with Fox News at the time of midterm election day, it was Netanyahu who came up with the idea so as to calm down political pressures that have been mounting in the country. According to foreign policy experts, the president does not have the power to do this since it is Congress that decides how to spend the money.
